AMOUNTS...THAT HAVE FALLEN ACROSS SOUTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA...
SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA...NORTHWEST IOWA...AND EXTREME NORTHEAST
NEBRASKA IN THE PAST 5 DAYS HAVE PUT AN END TO A RECORD DRY STRETCH
ACROSS THE REGION. LOOKING AT THE 45 DAY PERIOD FROM MAY 1 THROUGH
JUNE 14 2006...NUMEROUS SITES HAD RECORDED THE LOWEST RAINFALL TOTAL
ON RECORD...WITH SEVERAL MORE IN THE TOP 6 DRIEST FOR SUCH A PERIOD.
