YESTERDAYS HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 100 DEGREES WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2002 THE MERCURY ROSE TO THAT READING. SUNDAYS HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 100 DEGREES FELL ONE DEGREE SHORT OF THE DAILY RECORD OF 101 DEGREES SET IN 1955 AND TIED IN 1987.

PRIOR TO SUNDAY...THE LAST OCCURRENCE OF TEMPERATURES AT OR ABOVE 100 DEGREES WERE ACHIEVED ON JUNE 29TH AND AGAIN ON JULY 20TH 2002.  PRIOR TO 2002...THE LAST OCCURRENCE OF 100 DEGREES OR MORE WAS 107 ON AUGUST 8TH 1995.

THE POSSIBILITY OF ANOTHER 100 DEGREE READING OR PERHAPS HIGHER IS IN OUR FORECAST FOR SIOUX FALLS TODAY.
