Scattered thunderstorms were forming along a cold front from Brookings South Dakota to Storm Lake Iowa. The line of thunderstorms continue to move slowly to the southwest toward Luverne, Sheldon and Flandreau. This line of storms has a history of producing brief funnel clouds as storms are developing. The funnel clouds will only last for a couple of minutes and extend approximately one-third of the way to the ground before dissipating. At this time, these funnel clouds are not expected to form into tornadoes. If you feel in danger, take shelter in a sturdy building.
Otherwise, these storms are also producing brief heavy rainfall. Local rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in these storms which may cause some ponding of water.
