Weather Observer Needed in Ida County Iowa!

The National Weather Service (NWS) is seeking a volunteer observer for the Battle Creek-Ida Grove-Arthur area along highway 175 through Ida County.  One dedicated observer is needed to record daily Maximum/Minimum temperatures and precipitation. Internet access will be needed to facilitate the transmission of data to the NWS.  The information will be used for forecasting and for climatology in the immediate area.  The data will also be added to the national data base for future research and planning purposes.  The NWS will bear the cost of equipment and there is minimal training required (we will come to you).  If interested, please contact our Data Acquisition Program Manager at the Sioux Falls Office of the NWS.  His e-mail address is Donald.Morin@noaa.gov, in the subject line please indicate "Ida COOP".
