One year ago record hail hit Dante, South Dakota

One year ago today, around 6 pm, a severe thunderstorm dropped unusually large hail hit Dante, South Dakota.  The hail punched holes in the roofs of several homes and buildings in town and left 10 to 12 inch divots in yards.  The largest hailstone was measured at 6 7/8 inches in diameter, making it the largest hailstone measured in South Dakota history.
