WARM TEMPERATURES WERE RECORDED ACROSS SOUTHEAST SOUTH
DAKOTA...SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA...NORTHWEST IOWA...AND NORTHEAST
NEBRASKA THIS AFTERNOON. AREAS WITH AMPLE SNOW COVER DID NOT
FARE AS WELL WITH TEMPERATURES ONLY REACHING THE 40S...WHILE 
AREAS WITH MINIMAL SNOW COVER WERE ABLE TO REACH 50 DEGREES
OR BETTER.

MITCHELL MANAGED TO BREAK THEIR RECORD DAILY MAXIMUM
TEMPERATURE FOR THIS DATE WITH 57 DEGREES...THE OLD RECORD OF
55 DEGREES WAS ESTABLISHED BACK IN 1906.
