More Record Low Temperatures Set Sunday Morning

...Record low temperature set for the second straight day at Sioux City, Iowa...

At 612 a.m. CDT, the temperature at Sioux Gateway Airport dropped to 49 degrees.  This sets a new low temperature extreme for the date, breaking the previous record of 50 degrees set in 1947.

Other low temperature records this morning include the following:

The temperature this morning fell to 48 degrees at Marshall, MN.  This breaks a record for the date, formerly set at 51 degrees in 2000.

At Worthington, MN, the temperature fell to 46 degrees early this morning. This sets a new record low temperature for the date, formerly 50 degrees in 2000.

The temperature two miles northeast of Lakefield, MN fell to 46 degrees degrees early this morning. This sets a new record low temperature for the date, formerly 50 degrees in 2000.

Our site at Le Mars, IA set a new record of 47 degrees this morning, surpassing the previous record of 49 degrees set in 1947.

Vermillion, SD tied the record low this morning with a reading of 49 degrees. The original record was set in 1911.

At Pipestone, MN the record low for today of 44 degrees set in 1911 was tied this morning.  Record temperatures for Pipestone are based on readings taken at the Pipestone Monument.

Another tied record occurred at Yankton 2SE, SD when the temperature dropped to 50 degrees this morning. The original record was set in 1947.
