Cool Average Temperatures for Summer Season

It’s been a very cool summer season statistically speaking. The average temperature for the climatological  summer season (June, July, August), does not set an all time record but does enter the record books in the top ten at some locations.  The table below, for three major sites, compares the coldest and warmest summer seasons against the “normal” average temperature for the summer season.  Take note of the cool rankings for the summer of 2009 highlighted in yellow.
