Winter Weather Awareness Day in Iowa

The National Weather Service and the Iowa Homeland Security & Emergenacy Management Agency have declared November 12th as Winter Weather Awareness Day in Iowa.  We would like to remind everyone that now is the time to start preparing themeselves, their families, vehicles, and homes for the onset of adverse winter weather.  It is only a matter of time before 'Ole man winter returns to the area.

Why talk about Winter Weather?

It is very important to be prepared for adverse winter weather.  Everyone should create a plan for what you and your family will do in case of a storm. Having your car fully checked and winterized, along with having a survival kit in your vehicle.  Remember, it is ultimately up to you to make the preparedness decisons based upon the information you hear from the National Weather Service.  It's decision that could save your life.
