Sioux Falls Finally Reaches 40 Degrees

At 1157 AM on March 13th, the temperature at Joe Foss airport finally reached 40 degrees, which brings an end to the consecutive days with highs below 40 degrees. This was a record, with 101 days from December 2nd through March 12th below 40 degrees, beating the old record set in the winter of 1968-69 by 7 days. While both Sioux Falls and Sioux City have reached 40 degrees, Huron has not, and they are at 103 days and still counting.
