Accumulating Snow Sliding Off Into SC Minnesota and Much of Iowa This Afternoon

The accumulating snow across the area will be sliding off into south central Minnesota and much of Iowa this afternoon. Locations near and southeast of a line from Moville Iowa to Jeffers Minnesota can expect up to another half inch of snowfall before 6 pm. Places in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota further east will only see traces or a couple tenths of an inch, while even further west into southeast and east central South Dakota only get traces or nothing at all. Snowfall totals today will vary from 2.5 to 5.7 inches in southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa, and from 0.3 to 2.0 inches in southeast South Dakota, east central South Dakota, and northeast Nebraska. Those with travel plans on I-90 east of Sioux Falls, or on north-south roads toward I-35, should monitor or dial 511 for the latest conditions.
