There has been very little snow this spring

After a cold and snowy winter, little snow has fallen across the region since March 1.  Considering that March generally has the most snowfall during the winter season, this year has been unusual for its lack of snow.  Both Sioux Falls and Sioux City received only 0.5 inches of snow since March 1 while Huron has received 1.2 inches of snow.   While these were not records for any of the cities, this amount of snowfall was amongst the least on record.  

In addition, Sioux City, Sioux Falls, and Huron received no snow for April.   There have numerous years in which the region has received no snowfall in April.  The last time this happened in Sioux Falls and Huron was in 2005 while Sioux City received no snow in April in 2006.
