A new Co-operative Weather Observer is being sought by the
National Weather Service for Windom, MN.
This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is interested in weather and has a desire to observe and report the conditions at Windom, MN. Windom has a long history in our Nation’s Climate program, dating back to 1926. We will provide the equipment and training necessary and remain available for guidance while you are in the program.
Duties of the observer, which usually only require a few minutes each day, include a daily report of 24 hour high/low temperatures and precipitation, including snowfall and snow depth. In preparation for our spring forecasts, weekly snow water observations are also part of the program. Observing is simple and so is reporting your observation via a program accessed through the internet. All you need to get started is the interest, a PC, and internet access, we supply everything else.
