Red Flag Warning in Effect Across Southwest Minnesota and Northwest Iowa until 7pm CDT for Critical Fire Behavior

Gusty southeast winds will increase to 25 to 35 mph this afternoon, and as temperatures warm into the lower to mid 60s, relative humidities will fall into the 20 to 25 percent range.  This will result in critical fire behavior this afternoon across much of southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa. The worst conditions are expected to occur along and east of Highway 59. As a cold front approaches this evening, conditions will gradually improve with an increasing chance of rain during the evening.
