Preliminary Severe Weather Reports For Sunday Night

Two clusters of thunderstorms moved across the area on Sunday night. On Sunday evening, severe
thunderstorms which developed over southern North Dakota earlier in the afternoon, moved into
southwest Minnesota. These storms brought winds around 60 mph to Lincoln County in Minnesota, and
wind driven hail in Pipestone county, which damaged crops in the area. A second cluster of storms
developed over northern Nebraska around midnight and moved across northwestern Iowa. Damaging
winds were reported around Yankton and into northwestern Iowa. There was also heavy rainfall and some
flooding in northwestern Iowa.
