Sioux Falls School District Recognized as StormReady!

National Weather Service Warning Coordination Meteorologist Todd Heitkamp presented the Sioux Falls School Board with their "StormReady Supporter" recognition on Monday, September 27th for their work in making the Sioux Falls public schools a little safer the next time Sioux Falls is threatened by not only tornadoes, but other significant storms.  The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls and the Sioux Falls School District work together to ensure the safety of the students throughout the year, but especially during times of severe weather.  StormReady counties, communities, schools, & businesses are better prepared to save lives from the onslaught of severe weather through advanced planning, education and awareness. No one is storm proof, but StormReady can help minimize its impact.  For more information concerning the National Weather Service StormReady program go to http://www.stormready.noaa.gov/
