An assortment of rain and snow will affect southeast South Dakota, southwest Minnesota, northwest Iowa, and extreme northeast Nebraska today into this evening. The greatest snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches should be over southeast and east central South Dakota, southwest Minnesota (especially near the South Dakota border), and in extreme northwest Iowa near Sioux Falls. some snow will fall south and east of this area, but accumulations should be less than 2 inches. Temperatures will be near or even a little above freezing during the snowfall, so the snow will have a slushy nature which can at times be more slippery than a dry snow. The snow will end from southwest to northeast this afternoon and evening.
