Coop Weather Observers Needed for Sibley IA, and Ocheyedan IA

Weather Observers Needed!

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
is looking for Volunteer Cooperative Weather Observers for
Sibley and Ocheyedan IA.

The Coop Weather Observer Program involves the daily
recording of the 24 hour high and low temperature
and precipitation. The weather information is usually
collected around 7 am, but can shifted to fit the observer's
schedule. The data is then entered into our database via
the internet.

The person we are looking for must be dedicated to public
service and able to perform the duties daily. Most observers
have a back-up observer, usually a family member.

We will provide the weather equipment, but a suitable
location, with a fairly open yard and few obstructions, is a
must.

If  you are interested in being a Coop Weather Observer,
please email:  michael.buss@noaa.gov Observation Program
Manager or call: (605)330-4247.
