Cooperative Weather Observer Opening in Washta Iowa

If your a civic minded person, have an interest in the
weather and live in the Washta Iowa area, the National
Weather Service would like to talk with you.

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, is looking for
a volunteer weather observer to collect and report climate
data to our office year round.

The cooperative observer program involves the daily
recording of 24 hour high/low temperature and precipitation
data. The weather information is usually collected around
7 am, but can shifted up to an hour to fit the observer's
schedule. The data must be entered into our database via
the internet each and every day.

The person we are looking for must be dedicated to public
service and able to perform the duties daily. We'll provide
weather equipment and training, but a suitable location with
a fairly open yard is required for exposure reasons.

If  your interested in becoming a Cooperative Weather
Observer please email: or call
call: (605)330-4247 for more information.
