Forecast snowfall amounts and timing

Snowfall expected today through this evening

A band of light to moderate snow will track eastward across the region for the rest of today. The snow will then diminish from west to east late this afternoon and evening.  The heaviest snowfall is expected in east central South Dakota, north of Interstate 90, where 3 to 4 inches is expected.  A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for these areas today. 1 to 2 inches is expected along I 90 with around 2.5 inches near Marshall Minnesota.  Snowfall amounts will taper to less than an inch south of Interstate 90.  Below is a table listing when accumulating snowfall is expected to begin and end at different locations across the area.
