A winter storm will impact parts of South Dakota late Friday and Friday night. Seen in the graphic below, a widespread 4 to 6 inches of snow is expected across much of the west, central/north central, and into parts of northeast South Dakota. Behind a cold front, winds will be west to northwest and will be strong, creating widespread blowing snow. Therefore winter storm warnings are out through Saturday morning across the west and north central, with winter weather advisories adjoining further east.
