A Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect through 3 pm afternoon for parts of southwest Minnesota mainly from  Elsworth north to near Porter.  A low pressure system spinning northeast through the region this afternoon will continue to bring a mix of rain and freezing rain along and east of the Interstate 29 corridor. Temperatures are currently in the lower and middle 30s in these areas and are slowly increasing as warmer air is pulled northward.  Although ice accumulations will be generally less than a tenth of an inch, even a slight glazing of ice can cause treacherous driving and walking conditions. Be prepared for slippery roads especially in neighborhoods and rural areas, slow down and use caution if out and about during the afternoon hours.
