Powerful Storm Moving Into The Region

If you have outdoor activities planned through Saturday,  be sure to pay close attention to the latest forecasts and updated information on a potent early season storm.

A robust low pressure system moving into the High Plains will bring unsettled weather to much of the region today and continue through Saturday. A variety of weather is expected to impact much of the region into Saturday, including severe weather, accumulating snow in some areas, and dramatically falling temperatures by the weekend.

Potential impacts to the area:

  • Severe weather including damaging winds, large hail and even a few tornadoes, particularly this afternoon and this evening along and east of the I-29 corridor.
  • Accumulating snow is expected west of the Missouri River Friday night into Saturday morning. Those traveling west through tonight may experience significant delays.
  • Much cooler conditions for the weekend, signalling a dramatic change from the unseasonably warm weather experienced around the region lately.
