A strong low pressure system will take aim on the region beginning Monday afternoon and continue into Wednesday, spreading a cold rain across the Northern Plains during the daytime and some accumulating snow at night. The rain is expected to change over to snow Monday night and continue into Tuesday morning across portions of the area. An inch or two of new snow is possible north of the Interstate 90 corridor by late Tuesday morning. Temperatures will warm enough Tuesday afternoon to change any precipitation back over to rain throughout the area.
The exact track of the low pressure system will have an impact on where the rain and snow occurs late Monday into Tuesday morning.
