THROUGH 900 PM THURSDAY...AN ALL-TIME OCTOBER RECORD RAINFALL OF
6.16 INCHES HAS BEEN MEASURED AT HASTINGS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT. THIS
BREAKS THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 5.82 INCHES SET 111 YEARS AGO IN 1897.
OF COURSE...ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL THIS MONTH WILL ONLY ADD TO THE
CURRENT RECORD. PRIOR TO THIS YEAR...THE MOST RECENT WETTEST OCTOBER
IN HASTINGS WAS JUST LAST YEAR IN 2007...WITH 4.76 INCHES.

THROUGH 700 AM THURSDAY...AN ALL-TIME OCTOBER RECORD RAINFALL OF 9.21
INCHES HAS BEEN MEASURED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COOPERATIVE
OBSERVER LOCATED AT KEARNEY REGIONAL AIRPORT. THIS SHATTERS THE
PREVIOUS RECORD OF 6.30 INCHES SET 62 YEARS AGO IN 1946. PRIOR TO
THIS YEAR...THE MOST RECENT WETTEST OCTOBER IN KEARNEY WAS IN
1969...WITH 5.22 INCHES.

FURTHERMORE...THE TOTAL PRECIPITATION IN KEARNEY SO FAR THIS YEAR
STANDS AT 35.48 INCHES. EVEN WITH OVER TWO MONTHS REMAINING IN THE
YEAR...THIS TOTAL ALREADY RANKS 2008 AS THE 5TH WETTEST YEAR EVER IN
KEARNEY. THE ALL-TIME RECORD ANNUAL RAINFALL OF 40.07 INCHES
OCCURRED IN 1915.
