Wet and Wintry Weather Continues this Morning

A mixed bag of wintry precipitation will continue to impact south central Nebraska this morning, mainly north of a line from Elwood to Hastings to Geneva, where temperatures hover around the freezing mark.  Either a  Winter Weather Advisory or Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect this morning. In addition to the threat of light icing on elevated surfaces including bridges and overpasses, far western sections of south central Nebraska such as Dawson, Valley, Sherman and Gosper counties can expect a few more hours of freezing rain, sleet and snow this morning. Total snowfall accumulations near one inch appear most probable west of a line from Ord to Lexington, with little to no snow accumulation anticipated farther east.

Farther south into north central Kansas and the adjacent bordering counties of south central Nebraska, temperatures will remain warm enough for the precipitation to fall as all rain.
