Bitterly cold north winds poured into south central Nebraska and north central Kansas in the wake of a strong Arctic cold front on Sunday, December 14. Peak gusts of 43-53 MPH were common across the area, as measured by various networks of automated sensors. In general, the strongest winds were measured during the 4:00 - 8:00 AM time frame.
