Groundhog Day - Monday, February 2

Monday, February 2nd is Groundhog Day.  According to the tale, if the groundhog emerges from its burrow on February 2nd and fails to see its shadow (due to cloudy skies), then winter will end soon.  If the groundhog does see its shadow (sunny skies), the groundhog will go back to its burrow, and there will be six more weeks of winter.

The latest sky forecast for the morning of February 2nd, calls for variable or passing clouds, and whether or not a Central Plains' groundhog sees its shadow is still a toss-up!
