Things In The Night Sky - Updated

The Perseid meteor showers have been underway the past few days and meteor shower activity is expected to peak during the late night tonight.  Prime time for viewing the showers will be around 3 am this Wednesday morning.  Although the moon will be 71 percent illuminated...rising around 11 pm this Tuesday evening...there should be a good show just the same with meteor rates of 200 per hour possible.

An upper level ridge of high pressure in place across the Central Plains Tuesday evening through Wednesday which should provide ideal weather conditions for viewing what is supposed to be one of the better Perseid meteor events.  Use the link to NASA below to learn more about the Perseids and the when's...what's and where's to viewing this event.
