Strong winds were observed across all of central and south central Nebraska, as well as portions of north central Kansas during the day Friday, October 2nd. Sustained northwesterly winds of 25-35 mph were accompanied by gusts to near 55 mph through some locations. The strongest winds were reported during the late morning and early afternoon hours Friday, with diminishing winds then noted mid afternoon through early evening.
