A potent weather system brought an early season snow storm to portions of the region late Friday through early Saturday. Snow initially developed over northwestern Nebraska Friday afternoon and evening, before spreading into north central and central Nebraska during the overnight hours Friday. Snowfall, which was reported as heavy at times across portions of central and western Nebraska, persisted through mid morning Saturday. Snowfall then diminished altogether early Saturday afternoon. Reports indicate the heaviest snowfall fell north of I-80 and west of highway 281, with some localized areas receiving around 14 inches of snow across western Valley and western Sherman counties!
