A quick moving storm system will spread a steady snow across south central Nebraska and north central Kansas today and early this evening. Generally speaking, 1 to 4 inches of snow is forecast for the area, with heavier amounts expected in south central Nebraska, where an average of 3 inches will fall. One to two inches is expected in north central Kansas. Look for the following conditions:

• Steady snowfall is expected from midday through mid evening
• Snow accumlations will range from 1 to 4 inches
• Lighter snow amounts on the southern side, or across north central Kansas
• North or northeast winds of 15 to 20 mph will cause minor blowing snow issues
• Hazardous travel conditions are expected with roads partly to mostly snow covered and visibilities reduced in heavier snow bands
• Snow will end by late Sunday evening
