Peak Wind Speeds May 22nd

A strong pressure gradient across the Central Plains Saturday (May 22nd) left many locations with a day of intense south winds.  Sustained winds averaged 30 mph at many locations by late morning, and the winds remained strong and gusty through the afternoon, before subsiding during the evening.   

The table below shows the strongest wind gusts recorded at selected automated weather stations in south central Nebraska.
