UPDATED: 72-Hour Rainfall Totals Through 7AM Tuesday, July 6th

Holiday Weekend Rainfall:
Listed below are a number of 72-hour rainfall totals from National Weather Service cooperative observers and automated airport equipment, ending at approximately 7AM, Tuesday, July 6, 2010. The vast majority of this rain fell during the 48 hours ending at 7AM, Monday, July 5. This is not a complete list of all reports received, but reflects many of  the highest-known 72-hour totals. Per radar estimates, the highest rain totals over the past few days affected the western half of Dawson County. Most of this rain fell during the overnight and early morning hours over the Independence Day holiday weekend, with dry conditions dominating much of the daytime hours. Fortunately, a period of several dry days leading up to this rainfall helped keep flooding issues at bay.

  • Please note that this list only reflects rainfall totals accessible by NWS Hastings through "official" sources. It is likely that locally heavy rain also affected portions of the area from which gauge readings were not accessible or known.
