January 2011 turned out to be one of the snowiest and coldest January's of record across central and south central Nebraska and north central Kansas dating back the past hundred plus years. Looking at the rankings...Greeley's monthly snowfall was the snowiest on record since 1850. For Grand Island...it was the 2nd snowiest January...for Hastings...the 3rd...and Kearney the 4th snowiest. For Holdrege and Hebron it was the 2nd and 4th snowiest respectively...and Beloit and Plainville finished the month with the 5th snowiest on record. |
