New Record Low Temperature For May 16th at Kearney, and Tied at Hastings

...RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE FOR MAY 16TH SET AT KEARNEY AND TIED AT HASTINGS...

On Monday morning, May 16th, 2011, the official NWS Cooperative Observer at Kearney Regional Airport reported a low temperature of 31 degrees. This breaks the previous record of 34 degrees, set in 1932. 

**PLEASE NOTE: All records for Kearney are based on the Cooperative Observer report. Although the automated sensor at the airport is used for various daily climatological reports, the official source of record data remains the NWS Cooperative Observer. **

On Monday morning, May 16th, 2011, automated ASOS equipment at Hastings Municipal Airport in Hastings tied a new minimum temperature record of 34 degrees. This tied the old May 16th record of 34 degrees set back in 1929, 1925, and 1923.
