Record Rainfall at Hastings for August 8th


During the early morning hours of Monday, August 8th, 2011, heavy rain fell over the Hastings Airport, tallying 1.27 inches for the calendar day. This set a new record rainfall for August 8th, breaking the old mark of 1.26 inches set in 1956.  Precipitation records at Hastings date back to 1895.

(Please keep in mind that the airport is the official weather observing station for Hastings, and precipitation totals there may not always be representative of what fell in other parts of the city.)
