Saint Patricks Day 2012 ended up being another record warm day across portions of south central Nebraska. An unseasonably warm airmass in place across the region combined with gusty southerly winds and ample sunshine, resulted in several new record warm temperatures both March 16th & March 17th across the local area. Multiple record high temperatures were broken across the Tri-Cities both afternoons, in addition to a new record WARM low temperature recorded at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island on March 17th.

The high temperature at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island reached 83 and 84 degrees on March 16^th & 17^th, 2012 respectively. These temperatures broke the previous record high temperatures for their respective dates as detailed in the table below.

The low temperature fell to only 57 degrees on March 17^th 2012 at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island. This was 3 degrees warmer than the previous record warm low temperature for the date, and comprable to the normal low temperature seen at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island during the first week of June.

The high temperature recorded by the official National Weather Service Cooperative Weather Observer at the Kearney Regional Airport on March 16^th & 17^th, 2012 was 82 and 85 degrees respectively. These temperatures broke the previous record high temperatures for their respective dates as detailed in the table below.

The high temperature reached 80 and 83 degrees at the Hastings Municipal Airport on March 16^th & 17^th, 2012 respectively. This represented a new record high temperature for March 16th, and tied the previous record for March 17th, as detailed in the table below.
