Saint Patricks Day 2012 ended up being another record warm day across portions of south central Nebraska. An unseasonably warm airmass in place across the region combined with gusty southerly winds and ample sunshine, resulted in several new record warm temperatures both March 16th & March 17th across the local area. Multiple record high temperatures were broken across the Tri-Cities both afternoons, in addition to a new record WARM low temperature recorded at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island on March 17th.
The high temperature at the Central Nebraska Regional Airport in Grand Island reached 83 and 84 degrees on March 16th & 17th, 2012 respectively. These temperatures broke the previous record high temperatures for their respective dates as detailed in the table below.
