Grand Island, Hastings: It Was A Top-5 Warmest Late August/Early September

Now that a more fall-like temperature regime has settled in across South Central Nebraska, it's time to put the hot stretch that prevailed through much of late August and early September 2013 into a historical perspective. In fact, when averaging daily high and low temperatures to arrive at on overall daily mean temperature, the 23-day stretch from August 19-September 10 ranked among the top-5 warmest on record at both Grand Island and Hastings.
