Peak Winds from Saturday Evening December 28th

On Saturday evening, December 28th, an arctic cold front plunged south through Nebraska and Kansas. Temperatures sharply dropped from near-record highs Saturday afternoon (upper 50s to middle 60s) to the single digits and low teens by Sunday morning (roughly 12 hours). Strong winds occurred behind the front, with sustained winds maximizing between 30 and 40 mph. Peak wind gusts reached up to 50 mph. The tables below list the maximum sustained winds as well as the peak wind gusts.
