A Dangerous Winter Storm to Impact Eastern Utah and Western Colorado

A dangerous winter storm will impact much of eastern Utah and western Colorado through Friday. Periods of snow...heavy at times...will fall over the mountains with a mixture of rain and snow for elevations below 6500 feet. Strong winds gusting to over 50 mph will result in blizzard conditions over the southern mountains where 1 to 3 feet of new snow will be possible by late Friday afternoon.

Heavy rainfall is expected in the lower valleys of southeast Utah and southwest Colorado tonight. Rain on snow combined with frozen and saturated soils could cause ponding in low lying areas and small streams to rise.
