Record High Temperatures Broken Across Tri State Area

Unseasonably warm temperatures continued across the Tri-State area as a ridge of high pressure aloft slowly began to shift east away from the area. The following are a list of all the record maximum temperatures that have been set across the area today:

    • At Hill City, KS, the temperature climbed to 71 degrees. This breaks the previous record of 70 degrees that occurred in 2000.
    • At McCook, NE, the temperature climbed to 68 degrees. This breaks the previous record of 66 degrees that was set in 1943.
    • At Yuma, CO, the temperature climbed to 63 degrees. This breaks the previous record of 60 degrees that was set in 1975.  Please Note: This observation is unofficial and should be considered preliminary. Official observations will be received at the end of the month from National Weather Service Cooperative Observers.
