According to Larry Body, program manager, "These observers have taken valuable time each and every morning to provide the National Weather Service with critical weather data for the past years."  Boyd also stated, "The data that they provided is used at the National Weather Service, and then archived at the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville North Carolina where all the world can obtain the data.  I can’t stress enough, how much the National Weather Service appreciates the work of these dedicated observers.  Congratulations!."
