Severe Weather - June 16

Severe Weather Strikes Tri-State Region

June 16, 2006

Overview

An upper level storm system brought a round of severe weather to the Tri-State Region on June 16th. With ample moisture, sufficient instability, and favorable winds aloft, the atmosphere was primed for severe weather. Storms first developed during the early afternoon hours in eastern Colorado before moving into portions of northwest Kansas. By early evening, most of the activity had pushed east of the area.
