Flash Floods on July 9, 2006
Slow moving thunderstorms caused flash flooding in Cheyenne County, Kansas, and
Cheyenne County, Colorado, on the evening of July 9, 2006 . In
Cheyenne County, Colorado, county roads 60 and 58, Road N, and roads in Cheyenne Wells were flooded with up to one foot of water in some places. Eight inches of precipitation was reported by the public 6 miles southeast of Arapahoe. In Cheyenne County, Kansas,

City was the hardest hit with 3.45 inches of precipitation reported by the public, numerous roads flooded, and reports of basement flooding.
