Observer Recognized for Service

July 2006

Patricia Hackert

20 Year Length of Service Award

According to Larry Boyd, program manager, "Patricia has taken valuable time each and every morning to provide the National Weather Service with critical weather data for the past 20 years."  "Patricia’s late husband had taken the observations for 30 years prior to Patricia taking over."  Boyd also stated, "The data that they have provided over the past 50 years is used at the National Weather Service, and then archived at the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville North Carolina where all the world can obtain the data.  I can’t stress enough, how much the National Weather Service appreciates the work of these dedicated observers.  Congratulations Patricia!."
