Tri State Area Oct 11-Oct 14th

Precipitation Map/Table

 

    A slow moving storm system produced several periods of moderate to heavy rain across the Tri State Area over a 3 day period. Most of the area received over an inch of rain, with several areas receiving over 3 inches. In addition to the rain, this system produced strong southerly winds gusts to around 55 mph during the evening and early morning hours on Oct 11th and Oct 12th. The following images are geopotential height, temperature and winds at 500 mb. Although the trough gradually weakend through this period, it remained nearly stationary through the period.
