Heavy Rain Events: September 7-9, 2009

 

Overview

Two rounds of heavy rain occurred across portions of western Kansas on the 7th and 8th of September 2009 resulting in rises on area creeks and streams.  Several homes were inundated along the south fork of the Saline river north of Oakley Kansas with rises also noted along the Smokey Hill river. Numerous reports of water flowing over rural roads were received with one report of a bridge and road being washed out.
