Sunshine Sensor to be Deactivated in October

The sunshine sensor at Goodland, KS will be deactivated on October 1, 2009. Daily minutes of sunshine as reported in the supplemental climatological data message/TOPSCDGLD/ will be discontinued.
The Foster-Foskett Sunshine Switch Sensor has become obsolete. Solar radiation data, considered more reliable and more accurate, is available from the NOAA National Climatic Data Center and the NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory. These data are found at the following websites…
