Very Cold Temperatures Will Occur across the Tri-State Area

Temperatures across northwest Kansas, eastern Colorado, and southwest
Nebraska will only reach the single digits Tuesday. A few locations, mainly in eastern
Colorado, may not even reach zero.

The last time temperatures in Goodland failed to reach zero was February 2, 1996.
However, a colder outbreak occurred the last week of December in 1990. From
December 22 through December 30, 1990, temperatures were subzero from
Yuma, Colorado, to Hill City, Kansas.

In addition to these very cold temperatures, winds will produce wind chill readings
around 35 degrees below zero.
