The National Weather Service in Green Bay will begin the issuance
of aviation weather forecasts for the Manitowoc County Airport at
noon on February 25, 2014. These aviation forecasts are issued four
times daily and updated as needed. They include forecasts of wind,
cloud height, visibility, low level wind shear, and precipitation. They
are used by pilots, dispatchers, pilot weather briefers, and airport
managers to help provide safe and efficient flight.
The new forecast joins other aviation forecasts produced by NWS Green Bay
for airports in Appleton, Central Wisconsin, Green Bay, Oshkosh,
Rhinelander, and Wausau. Manitowoc will be the only aviation forecast
near the the west shore of lake Michigan north of Milwaukee.
